I sat down several times this past week to write about our first day of homeschool and each time I'd sit down my brain would just shutdown...it was a little tired! I'd write something, delete it, write something, delete it...and this continued for a few days. There really is just one word that describes how our first day and week went. Are you ready???
Amazing. Simply amazing, friends. At the risk of sounding overly dramatic, it really was one of the most wonderful and precious weeks of my life :) I know that we'll have bad days in the future. I know that we'll have days where everybody's tired of doing school--days that just don't go as planned. But in the meantime, I'm going to be thankful that our first week was one of pure joy and encouragement. It's just what this newbie homeschool mom needed to start the year off! Thank you, Lord, for such a blessed first week. The Lord is faithful, friends. As I looked back on the week Friday evening I was reminded again of Philippians 1:6 that says:
Here are a few pictures from our first day :o)
{Checking off their chores and getting dressed to head downstairs for a special breakfast!}
{The boys' favorite...pancakes! Notice Isaiah's shirt change? He was in Duck Commander mode all week...}
And what's the first day of school without some pictures???
{Isaiah}
{Elijah--look at that sweet little face!}
{Mrs. Glass and her sweet little pupils :) I love that Isaiah had to make sure his cowboy boot made it into the picture!}
Life is good, friends. Not because of what we have, but because of
who we serve. We serve a God that does extraordinary things in ordinary people. A God that
promises to bring to completion the work He's started in us. A God that purposes to do
all things for His glory and our good. And a God that's plans for His children far exceed what they could have ever imagined for themselves...
{Ephesians 3:20}
